Blush Novelties Aria Mi Vibe – Sex Toy Review
It is always fun when I am sent super expensive, luxury toys to review. The kinds of toys I would probably never buy for myself because I hate spending money (mostly because I never seem to have enough of it…). But what excites me even more than those luxury toys are the toys that seem every bit as luxurious as those toys with triple digit price tags but are actually affordable. The Blush Novelties Aria Mi Vibe is one of those champagne tastes on a beer budget sort of toys. Okay… $30 is still kind of pricey… so I guess we are talking fancy craft beers… but still, any vibrator under $50 is a win in my book… because it is something I can aspire to afford with a little bit of planning (this may come as a shock to you… but for some reason, blogging about sex toys has yet to make me filthy, stinkin’ rich… crazy, I know…).
I am enjoying how I went from not touching a Blush Novelties toy in the 5 or so odd years I have been blogging to suddenly having more Blush Novelties than I can shake a stick at. Like seriously, I HAVE ALL THE THINGS (or so it feels like…). This time I find myself in possession of quite a few toys from the Aria line… thanks to both Peepshow Toys (who have sent me the Aria Mi Vibe and the Aria Hot Tongue) and Betty’s Toy Box (who sent along the Aria Buzz Bunny)… I’m also a big fan of collecting full sets of things… so be prepared to see many more Aria reviews in the future… because that is probably going to happen. Before even opening up the box, I was already kind of a fan of the Aria toys… they are just so damn colorful. Blush Novelties is really killing it with their color schemes lately (remember the Avant D4 I reviewed earlier)! Now I have these Aria toys in super bold, bright, and fun color combos! I am so on board with this use of color… I can not even properly express my sheer joy at how much I love the bold coloring choices! Okay… sure… the Aria Mi Vibe comes in the somewhat expected color scheme of pink and purple… but even though that color combo isn’t exactly rare in a sex toy… I love just how bright they are! The colors really pop and I love it!
So the Aria Mi Vibe is an itty bitty little vibe (its so small and so cute) and is pretty much exactly what I think of when I think of bullet vibes. And sure you could use the bullet on all its own and it would be just dandy, but the neat thing about the Aria bullets is that they also come with a silicone sleeve that slips right on over the little bullet, thusly transforming the humble little bullet into a whole new toy and experience! The Mi Vibe comes with a sleeve that looks kind of like… uhh… a nubby bulb of garlic with wings? Or maybe an abstract penguin… with a heart shaped tumor growing from its back? Or possibly some kind of… love… bug? Okay… I don’t really know what it looks like… other than there is a heart shaped protrusion coming springing forth from the back of this toy that is supposed to work as some kind of ergonomic handle (ala the nonsense that the CalExotics Marvelous Teaser tried to do… which I hated… although on the Mi Vibe, it seems to work out a bit better…). The head of this silicone sleeve is covered in a ribbed texture that encircles the entire head portion of the toy. Then the body… well… the body really does look like a smooth bulb of garlic. You know what… I stand by my earlier assessment, it is a nubby bulb of garlic with heart shaped wings. Regardless of what we think it looks like, I can tell you with 100% certainty that the sleeve is made from silicone and is thus both body safe and easy to clean.
So, on its own… I was super shocked by the bullet. Like I said above, the vibrator is just a little slip of a thing. It rests comfortably in the palm of my hand and I was honestly not expecting much in the way of power out of this thing… I mean look at it… its so small! Boy… was I wrong! I pulled the Aria Mi Vibe bullet from its plastic packaging, turned it on… and…. whaaaaaaaaat?!?! Holy cow! This little bullet has got some power going on! Normally, when I see a company advertising a vibrator as having “deep, rumbly vibrations” my first thought is “yeah right… I’ll be the judge of that” and more often than not… the toy is now where near what I would consider deep, rumbly, or even powerful for that matter. The Mi Vibe is different… I don’t think the Mi Vibe lied to me. Well… it didn’t totally lie to me. When I first turned on the bullet, I was shook. It was powerful, it was rumbly, it caused me to question everything I knew about bullet vibes. I then eagerly begin clicking through the Mi Vibes other settings… and while the Mi Vibe bullet remains quite powerful, it quickly loses its rumble and is replaced with what can best be described as a nest of bees. Buzzy, buzzy (yet still powerful) bees. The bullet vibe is made from a hard ABS plastic and can be used on its own. I don’t mind pressing the bullet to my clit on its lower, more rumbly settings, but once I start pumping up the power, the buzz becomes a bit too much.
The bullet vibe is only one half of the Aria Mi Vibe party, so lets talk about that silicone sleeve! Okay, sure… we know that the little vibe has got some oomph… but there is no way that it will retain all that power when traveling through that silicone sleeve, right? Surely that purple silicone garlic bulb with wings will dampen the power this little vibe does have and turn it into something weak and disappointing. Right? RIGHT?! … Surprisingly… no. Experience has taught me that toys with silicone sleeves end up with disappointingly damped vibration (I’m looking at you Ramsey Rabbit) but the Aria Mi Vibe exceeded expectations once again and left me pleasantly surprised.. Even with the garlic bulb fashioned over the top of the bullet vibe, I had no issues feeling the vibrations and directing them exactly where I was wanting them. I would even say that the sleeve also helps to soften the extreme buzz of those upper intensity levels, making them far more tolerable all while still maintaining some pretty impressive clarity of strength. Overall, I must say… I quite enjoyed the Aria Mi Vibe, it did not disappoint.
Operating the Aria Mi Vibe is a pretty simple matter. There is a single button at the base of the bullet that controls the whole kit and caboodle. I found the button was a bit stiff and took a bit of force and effort to push, but it wasn’t completely unreasonable. To turn the bullet on, simply hold down the button until the Mi Vibe begins to vibrate and repeat this step when you are ready to turn it off again. While on, continuing to push the button at the base will cycle the Mi Vibe through it’s ten settings (five constant vibrations with increasing intensities and five patterns).
My Stunt Cock and I really enjoyed using the Mi Vibe as a means of foreplay. We took turns rubbing it around each others bodies. I ran the ridged head underneath the shaft of his penis and around his balls while he took a turn at teasing my nipples and running it down my inner thigh. I kind of feel like this is where the Mi Vibe shined the most… I mean sure, it did give me some nice orgasms that I didn’t have to work to hard for… but I really enjoyed the tickling, rumbling, tease the vibrations gave as they caressed down my legs and up my sides. My Stunt Cock, who is kind of picky when it comes to which vibrators he will tolerate, enjoyed some of the patterns while having the toy pressed just underneath the head of his penis.
One thing I really don’t care for about the Mi Vibe is the way it charges. It comes with a magnetic charger that plugs into your USB drive (or if you are fancy like me, you can plug it in using your phones wall charger cube dealy thing)… this is not the part I hate though… that part is all fine and dandy. It is the magnetic cap that fits to the bottom of the bullet vibrator that has really got my goat. Now, it is entirely possible that I have just not worked out how to attach it properly… but as it stands, it seems like the magnetic hold is far to weak. The slightest bump or readjustment of the bullet caused it to disconnect from its magnetic charging cable. I was honestly getting frustrated at it… in fact I’m pretty sure I said some words that would make a sailor blush as I tried for the one-millionth time to get the magnetic charging cap to stay affixed to the bottom of the bullet. So… yeah… not a fan of the charging cable, I think there is some work that could be done to improve this aspect of what is otherwise a pretty solid toy.
So, will you like the Blush Novelties Aria Mi Vibe? Depends on where you stand on buzzy toys. If you absolutely cannot abide by them… skip the Mi Vibe, you’ll likely only disappoint yourself. Although, personally, I really felt like once the garlic bulb sleeve with wings was placed over the bullet, the numbing buzz of the bullet became easier to deal with and I enjoyed myself a great deal. I really like that this is a combo kit sort of deal… I like that I can use the bullet on its own if I want or I can add the sleeve… it’s like getting two toys for the price of one (who doesn’t love more bang for their buck). At first I wasn’t too sure I would like the heart shaped handle thing in between my fingers (because I hated same sort of thing on the Mini Marvels Teaser) but it actually does make this toy pretty easy to hold and use. Not only is the Aria Mi Vibe great for when you are flying solo, but it makes for a fantastic couples toy as well! I happily give my Kitten Boheme stamp of approval to the Mi Vibe and if its something you’ve been eyeing, it is worth the purchase price!
The Blush Novelties Aria Mi Vibe was provided to me free of charge by Peepshow Toys in exchange for my honest review.
